40/40 Introduction

In 2009 I traveled to 40 cities in the United States for German outerwear company Wellensteyn. I photographed forty individual people, starting in Los Angeles and driving cross country in a Jeep. I found genuine people surrounded by the elements of their varying natural environments on Rodeo Drive, at Hoover Dam, in Las Vegas, Salt Lake City, & in the states of Washington, Idaho, Colorado, Nebraska, Pennsylvania, Oregon, Utah, California, Maine, Montana and many more places, ending up three weeks later under the Brooklyn Bridge. Each person was photographed and interviewed in exchange for the coat, a happy trade for all.
